On Sunday 25th September 2016, we were formally commissioned as Pastors, RCCG Royal City, Sevenoaks following the transition to glory of Pastor Tinuola Adeyemi, our Pioneer Pastor.
Our pastoral journey in the last 7 years has been by the grace, faithfulness and love of God. It required us to leave our comfort zone, walk by faith in the God that called us, leading, equipping and empowering us to make, mature and mobilise disciples to be Christ-like, fulfil the great commission and walk in their God-given destiny.
Our pastoral journey in the last 7 years can be summed up with these two commissions – #RaisingKingdomAchievers to produce fruit in every good work and #RebuildingMyLifeWithJesus
In 2019 – Our Year of Divine Achievements, the Lord gave us a commission – #RaisingKingdomAchievers and in 2020 – Our Year of Divine Fruitfulness, this commission was rebranded to #RaisingKingdomAchievers to produce fruit in every good work. In 2023, the Lord opened our eyes to the discovery that the journey we started in 2016 was a commission – #RebuildingMyLifeWithJesus
Some highlights of our journey include:
1. During the last 7 years, we celebrated some of our members for acquiring new educational qualifications that positioned them to rebuild professionally and financially.
- Pastor Yinka Oshin completed a postgraduate degree in Science Communication at University of Kent, Canterbury; he is working as a Freelance Science Communicator.
- Pastor Foluke Oshin completed a postgraduate diploma in Educational Mental Health at King’s College, London; she is working as an Educational Wellbeing Practitioner.
- Elder Bisi Adeniran completed a degree in Mental Health Nursing at City University, London; he is working as a Mental Health Nurse
- Brother Tolu Akinyode completed a degree in Mental Health Nursing at University of Greenwich, London; he is working as a Mental Health Nurse
2. At the beginning of the journey I had 1 job working as a freelance social research interviewer, with adverse impact on us financially; today the Lord has rewarded me with 3 work streams – Transport Service Provider, Publisher and Science Communicator – helping me to develop multiple streams of income to make us financially secure.
As part of my journey of working as a transport service provider, I was privileged to get featured in Uber & Times Driving, My Life | Flexibility with Benefits and the Lord rewarded me with a brand new premium electric vehicle for my work.
3. At the beginning of the journey, I had given up on my publishing business; today the Lord has rewarded me and helped me to rebrand my publishing business – The Talent Publishing
4. At the beginning of the journey, I had to defer my plans to study for a MA History in Science, Technology and Medicine at King’s College London; today the Lord has rewarded me with a MA in Science Communication from the University of Kent, Canterbury.
5. As part of my journey to rebuild my education and professional development, we secured a funding grant for a public engagement with science project – Elijah, the Tishbite – Let’s Talk about Mental Health. We produced a short drama film – Jeremiah & Family Part 1 and a Workbook – Elijah, the Tishbite – Let’s Talk about Mental Health Workbook. The Lord used this process to help me to rebuild my mental health.
6. During these 7 years, Pastor Foluke Oshin released two music singles – Be Still and Oba Nla – in addition to her previous music single – Be the C.H.A.N.G.E
At RCCG Royal City, Sevenoaks, we are committed to #RaisingKingdomAchievers to produce fruit in every good work.
7. Our children continued to excel in their academic studies with many gaining admission into grammar schools and universities; they were empowered to develop their talents and skills in music, public speaking, graphic designing, event planning etc.
8. In diverse ways, the Lord met the needs of our members for food, water, shelter and provision. He watched over our lives, keeping us safe and protected. His presence continued to guide us on the way.
9. Sadly, during this period, Elder Sam Olusanya passed away to glory. He was our oldest member and the one that travelled the longest distance to attend church. May both Pastor Tinu and Elder Sam continue to rest in the bosom of our Lord, amen.
10. During the last 7 years, we grew in our knowledge of the Lord and in maturity as believers. Some of the themes we’ve explored include:
We are grateful to God for equipping and empowering us for progress spiritually, educationally, professionally, financially, materially and in all areas of our lives. We thank Him for His faithfulness and amazing testimonies of provision, protection, promotion, progress and His presence in our lives.
We are grateful for His grace and mercies that kept us from 2016 till 2023; we are reassured of His continued presence with us on this journey and pray for greater grace, increased wisdom, renewed strength, greater exploits and overflowing rewards in Jesus name, amen.
We are grateful for the support of our leaders, families, friends, partners and suppliers that has enabled us to continue this Kingdom work.
As we look forward to celebrating the 10th Year Anniversary Celebrations of RCCG Royal City, Sevenoaks, we continue to trust in the Lord for the journey ahead with high expectations of amazing results, breakthroughs, greater exploits and undeniable testimonies in Jesus name, amen. The Lord is calling us to #Arise&Shine.
We are confident that He that has began a good work in us will complete it in Jesus name, amen – “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6 NIV
With Jesus in the boat of your life, you can rebuild and turnaround your life, faith, family, work, business, finances and health.
